Naked palettes worth the price tag?

Before a new week begins, I thought I would throw another post out there whilst I had it in mind.

When it comes to buying high end make-up that comes with quite the hefty price tag, I like to read up on a handful of reviews to make sure I wouldn't be throwing money down the drain when pressing 'checkout'. It is so tempting to fall for beautiful packaging and popularity, but until you have the product on your face, you'll never actually know if it's your trusty best friend or your new worst enemy that you regret picking up.

Urban Decay is a well known brand with one of it's most popular range being the 'Naked' line. The Naked palettes are probably owned by 98% of beauty bloggers (not actual statistics) and are talked about everywhere, from YouTube to TV.

In today's post, I am going to be letting you guys know my opinion on the Naked palettes I currently own and if they are worth the price tag that comes with them.

I own the first edition Naked palette, Naked 2 and Naked 'smoky'.

I brought the Naked smoky palette first, round Christmas time (I said the 'C' word) because I thought it was the perfect time to get my hands on some sparkle and shimmer. The price of each Naked palette is £38.50 yet I paid £34.00 thanks to the Debenhams sale.

I then went ahead and brought the Naked 2 palette a couple of weeks later because I am always wearing natural and warm colours to compliment my blue eyes. I got this one for £34.00 from FeelUnique when they had a beauty sale. (I'm all about these bargains if you couldn't already tell)

Surprisingly I brought the first Naked palette last because I was just so in love from then onwards. I got this from FeelUnique for £34 or just under...either way, I have never paid the full price for a Naked palette thanks to the amazing sales.

Let's get onto some swatches!

Naked 1 has a range of tones and shades. Shimmer, Matte, Satin you name it, you really do get variety. This palette is perfect for a beginners kit because I feel like these are every ones 'go to' shades or most used to say the least. I absolutely adore glitter and sparkle so the shimmery shadows are always going to win me over. With a range of colours, from cream to black and everything in between, this is perfect for every ones starter kit.

Moving onto Naked 2. We have some very similar colours but don't be fooled, we have some lighter tones here people. This palette definitely will be used more in the summer because it has some amazing shades that make incredible highlighters and the gold shimmery tones are perfect. I am really not surprised that this one from the whole collection is the most popular because it is absolutely incredible. Again, this could be the perfect shadow starter palette but because of the more shimmery shades, maybe keep this one aside for summer.

Finally, the Naked smoky palette. Again, embrace your inner glitter ball fan girl because this definitely is perfect for those evenings out. Although we still have the golds, we have some shimmery slivers and greys which are perfect for a typical smoky eye...hence the name of the palette of course. I used this a lot round Christmas time but as we start to see the sun appear a lot more, I haven't been reaching for it as often as the others.

As you can see from all the swatches, the pigmentation of the Naked palettes are incredible and that's to be expected when you know the price tag. I loved swatching these palettes because I knew I would see the exact product on my arm, as I did in the palette itself.

So, Are Naked palettes worth the price tag?

YES! YES! YES! They most definitely are and I do not regret purchasing these at all because they have perfect pigmentation and I use at least one of them every time I do my make-up.

What do you think about the Naked palettes?

P.S Wondering why I don't have Naked 3? The Naked 3 palette consists of a lot of pink and rose gold shades which I don't see myself using regularly enough to splash out on the palette.

What I Ate Wednesday

Seeing as it's Wednesday, I thought I would throw in a 'What I ate Wednesday' post. Even though I haven't featured one of these posts before, I thought I would write about what I ate today.

 Breakfast

I love a good cuppa in the morning and it's kinda become a routine of mine so I brewed some fresh tea around an hour before I ate breakfast. I have been experimenting with different fruits so today I went for something very refreshing, fat free coconut yogurt, passion fruit & blueberries.

Lunch

After hydrating myself with a bottle of water, I prepared some lunch. I wanted something with carbs so I would feel fuller for longer. I made gluten free pasta with a tomato and mushroom sauce on top of a fair amount of spinach. I love in-coperating spinach into my meals because it's an amazing super food that makes you feel full right through till dinner.

Dinner

For dinner I peeled and chopped a sweet potato to make some sweet potato fries (which are my absolute favourite) along side with chopped tuna and spinach. Shortly after dinner I had a pint of water and an oat bar to wave goodbye to those sweet cravings.

On a daily basis, I ensure I hydrate regularly with plenty of water to stop nasty headaches and to keep me satisfied between each meal.

I hope you enjoyed something a little different tonight so let me know if you want to see more posts like this because I will be more than happy to share it with you.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

February Favourites

Today I bring you my favourites throughout February.

There are just so many things I fall in love with every month so narrowing products/things down to a reasonable amount is quite a challenge. Never the less, I have put together the bits and bobs that I have been loving and found myself reaching for most, last month.

Morphe Buffer Brush - M439

I posted about my new Morphe brushes a couple of weeks back, click Morphe Brush Delivery to have a little look, so you all know this wasn't the only one! I absolutely adore this brush and can say that it's probably my all time favourite face brush; that's a big deal. The fibres are densely packed so you achieve a flawless finish, no matter what foundation you use. Morphe brushes are a dream to wash and this brush has been the perfect addition to my kit.

Zoella Make-Up Bag

I have quite a collection of Zoella products but I think this is the cutest yet! I love make-up bags because they're so handy for travelling; this one in particular fits all my everyday make-up in and is super adorable. Also it's pink...can't really go wrong there.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I bet you've seen so many posts about this already so I thought I would join the club. I purchased the travel sized bottle just so I could try it out first before committing to the bigger bottle. I love this! I use it on a cotton pad after I have taken my make-up off and it's also very handy for cleaning away and tidying up eye make-up. Definitely worth the money!

PrimaLash #747S Lashes

Lashes can be expensive, especially when you are using them all the time for so many different reasons. I found these lashes last year on Amazon and read some amazing reviews about them so I thought to try them out, they were a bargain (around £2.00) so either way, I wasn't splashing out! I was amazed, I have ordered these lashes twice now in bulk because they are such good quality and ridiculously cheap. These are the most natural lashes and can be worn more than once, literally perfect!

Organix Coconut Milk

Since having my hair cut, I wanted a trusty, nourishing serum to apply. I brought this in boots because I saw the words 'Anti-Breakage' and I don't regret it. I use this twice to three times a week depending on what condition my hair is in and it does exactly what it says. My god, my hair has never felt so soft and healthy; oh and coconut scents are every ones weakness right?!

L'Oreal Infallible Primer

I needed a primer so after seeing post after post about the 'Infallible' range, I gave it a go. I love this primer and never forget to apply this before my make-up. This is so comparable to many high end products which is why it has made the cut for my February favourites.

L'Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist

I had my heart set on the Urban Decay Setting Spray until I came across this one. Seeing as I had purchased the primer, I thought I would buy the pair because I thought they would go quite well together. When I first used this, my make-up stayed put and didn't smudge all day. I mean, when you get through a whole day of shopping with a flawless face, you know what to thank!

Soap & Glory Sunkissed Tint Body Lotion

I am not a huge fan of fake tan because the result is often a failure. I got this for Christmas but I used it a couple of weeks ago when I knew I was going to have my legs out. This says 'No-Streak' & 'Long-Wear' which is absolutely correct. As soon as you put this on your skin, BOOM you're tanned. No waiting around for a tan to develop, easily washable and best of all, you're not left with orange patches and streaks. I am in love with this product!

Pretty Little Liars

Like many, I am a huge PLL fan. I started watching this so much later than everyone else and continuted watching it again last month. I am completly hooked and if you don't know what it is, go check it out! Look at those girls though, I wish I was that sassy!

I hope you liked reading about what I loved last month and still do!

What were some of your February favourites?

Shimmer, Sparkle and Glow Naked

Good afternoon beautiful, how are you?

I have received some amazing feedback from my first YouTube video and I can't thank those of you enough who have taken the time to watch it and support me from the very beginning of this YouTube journey.

Today I am going to talk about one of the gorgeous products I brought whilst shopping in Debenhams at the weekend.

The 'Naked Illuminated.' A shimmering powder for your face and body by Urban Decay.

I had never seen these before when browsing through any Urban Decay range (it surprised me a little too) so when I did, I knew I was going to be walking out with one. I bet you can imagine the excitment I felt!

Click this link Naked Shimmer Powder to check it out for yourself.

Once you take the product out of the box, you are left with such a beautiful sight. I cannot compliment this packaging enough, everyone needs a bit of shimmer in their life but Urban Decay have taken it to a whole other level.

I chose the shade 'Lit' which was the bronzing shade whereas the others were pearly highlights. I intended on building up my 'summer make-up bag' so finding this made me that more happier.

For £22.50 you really do get your moneys worth and this is definitely a luxury looking and performing product.

I don't know about you but to make myself feel better I reason my purchases. My reason behind buying this product was because I thought it would be a stunning addition to a summer look. I can imagine this looking very glowy and refreshing in the sunlight; let's not forget how sparkly those perky cheekbones would be. Perfect right?!

When using this, I know it will go hand in hand with a natural look which is what Spring/Summer is all about. This shade will suit any skin colour and I recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Just to make things even better, in the bottom section underneath the bronzer there is a small applicator brush which is really handy for on the go and touch ups.

Look at that swatch, so pigmented and what dreams are made of! Thinking about it, I am definitley going to use this on my collar bones for some shimmery definition.

All in all I give this product a 10/10 and recommend all my beauty lovers out there to grab this before the Summer season approaches.
